About the Rock Imaging Special Interest Group

This special interest group was formed by Ross Davidson and Dr. Nick Coles after the 2020 international summit on rock imaging, iRIS-2020. Very sadly, Nick died in May 2023 after a long illness but his enthusiasm and ideas will continue to inspire us.

The Rock Imaging Special Interest Group serves as a place for sharing, learning and collaborating with peers in industry and academia for the purpose of advancing knowledge and best practices in the field of rock imaging, whatever the purpose.

This is supported by:

• Sharing experiences through presentations at the annual summit
• Running training courses or workshops to enhance awareness and understanding
• Providing written content for the website
• Participation in online webinars
• Keeping in touch throughout the year using the SIG forum.
